#edugood: project 365

My one word for 2013 is joy.

I want to look for joy.

Experience joy.

And share joy.
---

On the first day of 2013, the first day of intentionally focusing on joyfulness (think it will take some practice - too fluent in sarcasm!), I read about a supercool project on Venspired that will help me focus on what is "good". (Thanks for pointing me in this direction Kelly.)
Krissy Venosdale is on a mission - a mission to see the good.  So she created Project 365 #edugood.

Here's what she says:  I truly believe that when we keep our eyes focused on the good, our lives become good.  So, if we focus on the good in our schools, our teaching will become even better.  No, this doesn't make everything perfect, or even easy, but it does make us appreciate the little things that matter ... All you have to do is take a photo a day in 2013 ... something you notice good around you or from the suggestion list.

I took my first #edugood picture today (with my brand-new-to-me iphone - insert big grin).

I made these cookies today - for my heading-back-to-university-after-Christmas kids.

They are "good" for a few reasons.

They taste really good.
It is good to have my kids home.
Even though it is sad to send them back to school, it is good to see them carving out their own dreams, moving forward and living them.

I will be tweeting my (hopefully) 365 photos - @BCrubberboots
and uploading them to shuttercal

So, a photo a day.  Looking for the good.  Living joy.

  1. That's a cool idea, Sandi. Thanks for sharing the project. I'm a huge believer in focussing on the good, too.
BTW, those cookies look yummy ... Lucky kids:)

  2. My personal goal is also being joyfuL by noticing the good, surrounding myself with good and remembering to smile. Last week my daughter stopped at timmies to buy a coffee and found out that the person ahead of her had paid for it . For less than a townie a stranger brought joy to my hardworking daughter's morning!
